ABOUT MICHAEL COLLINS 

Michael Collins is a distinguished professional in the hospitality, accommodation, and tourism industry, boasting over 35 years of extensive experience in Australia. He is the Principal of CF Global, a boutique consultancy and import agency specialising in business and capacity building through cost-effective operational efficiencies and international procurement.

Throughout his illustrious career, Michael has managed several hotels for the Austotel Group and the Swan Brewery. He notably served as the lessee and General Manager of the historic Castle Hotel in York for over a decade. In 2002, he joined Best Western as the Regional Manager for WA/SA/NT, further solidifying his expertise in the industry.

​

In 2006, Michael took on the role of Group General Manager and Director of the Eco Company Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of the Hospitality Group of Companies. Under his leadership, the Eco Company successfully opened and operated the award-winning Karijini Eco Retreat on behalf of the Gumala Aboriginal Corporation. Located in the stunning Karijini National Park in Western Australia, the retreat's successful launch underscored Michael's proficiency in pre-opening operations, sustainable tourism practices, and management of hospitality businesses in remote locations.

Michael's role as the Pre-opening General Manager for The Terrace Hotel, a boutique 5-star hotel in Perth, further highlights his ability to manage high-end hospitality businesses and international procurement.

​

As a consultant, Michael has provided valuable insights to various organisations, including hotels, pubs, restaurants, holiday parks, local governments, Aboriginal Corporations. His expertise spans sustainable tourism, tourism and destination marketing, destination development, product distribution, operational management, audit, procurement, infrastructure requirements, and new projects. He has also delivered relief management services for multiple hospitality businesses.

Michael's leadership extends to numerous national, state, and regional tourism and industry bodies, including AHAWA, Australia’s Northwest, FACET, and ATEC, a non-executive director of Ecotourism Australia. He currently serves as  President of Skal International Perth, and has previously held significant roles with the Coeliac Society of WA, Coeliac Australia, and the Caravan Industry Association Western Australia.
